Exchange of bitter words took place between PTI counsel, member EC during hearing of Contempt of EC case

ISLAMABAD, January 16 (Online): Exchange of bitter words took place between member of Election Commission (EC) and Shoaib Shaheen counsel for PTI.

Contempt of EC and chief election commissioner cases against PTI founder and Fawad Chaudhry came up for hearing in EC Tuesday.
Shoaib Shaheen said notice has not been served to us. We came to know from TV in the morning that there is hearing of the cases.

Shoaib Shaheen while requesting for adjournment of the hearing of case said you are snatching the right of criticism from us. Electoral symbol of bat was snatched from us. Now during election days our leader will be convicted and sentenced in contempt of EC case.

Member EC replied to Shoaib Shaheen we have not snatched. It was not given too you in fact. Two years have passed in regard to this case. It was your government then.

Shoaib Shaheen said case has been registered against our lawyers in Rahim Yar Khan.

Member EC said your lawyers had attacked. There should be criticism but there should be no abusing. Cases are pending since 2021. You prolonged the case so much. We remained silent what happened in jail, We could do too much.
During it exchange of bitter words took place between Shoaib Shaheen and members of EC.
Later the hearing was adjourned till January 24
