Electricity tariff increased by RS 1.81

ISLAMABAD 09 August (Online): Electricity tariff for people of Karachi has been increased by RS 2.31 per unit and RS 1.81 for government distribution companies.

Notification for increase in monthly fuel price adjustment for 1 month has also been issued.

An additional burden of RS 4.30 billion will be shifted to Karachi consumers while RS 24 billion will be on DISCOS consumers.

Electricity prices have been increased for consumers across country.

In the context of monthly fuel adjustment, the cost of electricity has been increased by RS 2.31 for Karachi consumers and RS 1.81 for other consumers.

According to notification issued by NEPRA, K-electric and DISCOS consumers will make additional payments in their August Bills.

K-electric had asked NEPRA for increase of RS 2.34 while CPPA had requested for an increase of RS 1.88.

NEPRA had reserved its decision on both the petitions after hearing on July 26.
