Electricity shortfall reaches 6099 MWs

ISLAMABAD – June 7 (ONLINE) Masses are left with nothing but helplessness as country’s electricity shortfall Tuesday was recorded at heavenly 6099 Mega Watts (MWs), Online has learnt.

19901 MWs electricity is currently being produced in country, sources said, while 26000 MWs electricity is required at the moment to meet country’s needs.

Electricity load-shedding has reached extraordinary 16 hours a day in some parts of country.

Sources said Tuesday that 4193 Mega Watts of power are currently being obtained through hydro-electricity plants, while government Thermal power plants are producing 1261 MWs of electricity.

Private electricity generation plants are producing 11565 MWs; Wind Power Plants are producing 1347 MWs, while Solar Plants are generating 118 Mega Watts of electricity. Moreover, 1237 MWs of electricity is being obtained through Nuclear Power Plants, Bagasse power plants are producing 181 MWs.

Islamabad region is facing a load-shedding duration of 6 hours, while areas with line losses are experiencing even longer electricity load shedding.
