Election Commission rejects PTI objections in prohibited funding case

ISLAMABAD, March 22 (Online): Election Commission (EC) while rejecting PTI objections in prohibited funding case has adjourned the hearing of the case till Marach 28.

Anwar Mansoor counsel for Imran Khan had challenged the powers of secretary EC on issuing show cause notice.

A 3-member bench of EC presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) took up PTI prohibited funding case for hearing Wednesday.
CEC said PTI had resorted to high court. What decision has come there?

The second counsel of PTI said high court had maintained decision be given after hearing PTI stance.

CEC said PTI had given interim reply and sought time for final reply. PTI had sought time for six weeks and not 6 months have passed. Nothing has been done in six months.

The counsel for PTI said it was PTI petiton on which decsion has been given. Anwar Mansoor is engaged in Sindh High Court, therefore, hearing adjourned, he prayed.

The EC rejected PTI counsel plea for granting two weeks time.

The hearing of prohibited funding case was adjourned till March 28.
