Geneva, June 5, 2024: Malik Tahir Javaid, President of the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP), has joined the Pakistan Delegation at the 112th International Labour Conference (ILC) in Geneva. This pivotal event unites representatives from governments, workers, and employers worldwide to address critical issues facing the global labor market.
Representatives from 187 ILO Member States, including governments, employers, and workers, have come together to discuss pressing issues in the world of work. The agenda includes the Renewed Social Contract, protection against biological hazards, and the Decent Work and Care Economy.
Representing the Pakistan Delegation, Malik Tahir Javaid delivered an invigorating plenary address, highlighting the ILO Director-General’s report on the Renewed Social Contract. He praised the Director-General’s call for a renewed social contract and emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to achieve social justice, dignity, and economic security.
The EFP President reaffirmed the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the ILO’s ambitious agenda. He stressed the importance of inclusive policies, reskilling, and environmental justice to overcome inequalities and build a sustainable future.
