ECP to decide on govt request for postponement of by polls, LB polls today

ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (Online): Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will decide today (Tuesday) on the request made by the government for postponement of by polls and LB polls for three months.

Chief Secretaries of Punjab, KPK and Sindh and IGs of the three provinces have been called by ECP as well.

ECP met here under Chief Election Commissioner Monday to consider the application from government seeking postponement of by polls and LB polls for three months. The letter with reference to postponement of the polls came under discussion in the meeting.

ECP will meet again today Tuesday and take several important decisions.

According to sources interior secretary, defence secretary and DG Military Operations have also been called.

It may be mentioned that government has made request for postponement of election for 12 national assembly and Punjab assembly seats and local bodies elections in Karachi.
