Islamabad, Oct 3 (Online): A meeting of the Election Commission was held on 3rd October, 2023 at ECP Secretariat under the Chairmanship of the Chief Election Commissioner to mull over visit of international observers for upcoming general elections.
Election Commission of Pakistan intended to send invitations to international observers/media through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in term of Section 238 of the Elections Act 2017.
It is also pointed out that ECP believes in an open door policy and welcomes observation missions for the upcoming General Elections at the earliest as required.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also requested to provide list of organizations who will observe upcoming general elections in order to streamline the process of observation.
