EC reserves judgment on petition seeking removal of care taker federal ministers from offices

ISLAMABAD, OCT 31 (ONLINE): Election Commission (EC) has reserved judgment on petition seeking removal of care taker federal ministers after hearing the arguments.

The petition filed against care taker federal ministers came up for hearing Tuesday.

A 5-member bench of EC presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja heard the case.

The petitioner Syed Aziz ud Din Kakakhel appeared before EC.
The CEC inquired “you had not appeared during previous hearing.

The petitioner replied “I had become a bit late. I regret over it.
The CEC inquired who is representing from government side.

Additional Attorney General (AAG) told the court “I am representing federal government.

The petitioner took the plea Fawad Hassan Fawad and Ahad Cheema was holding important posts during last government. Ahad Cheema has been made special assistant to PM on political basis.

The CEC inquired what evidence you have that their political affiliation could be proved.

The petitioner said Prime Minister (PM) too has political association. The care taker special assistant to PM Ahad Cheema was holding an important post during previous government.

The EC reserved judgment on completion of arguments.
