ISLAMABAD, FEB 07 (Online): Election Commission (EC) is not using any internet or public net and private net work is being used for results. This was said by EC DG IT Khizar Aziz while talking to private TV channel here Wednesday.
He said RTS is not being used this time. We hold out assurance to nation Election Management System (EMS) is a special software.
EMS has been provided to office of 859 Returning Officers (ROs)
4 data entry operators, 4 laptops and IT Equipment have been provided in RO office.
He held EMS has been installed in mobile phones of Presiding Officers. Presiding officer will take picture of form 45 and send it to RO. If signals are not coming then form 45 will automatically reach RO whenever signals come.
He indicated Presiding Officer (PO) has to go to RO under section 95. PO can show form 45 to RO on his mobile. Form 45 will become locked automatically in the mobile of PO.
He stated that RO will satisfy while making form 47 that form 45 is locked in the mobile of PO.
He pointed out a third tool has also been kept in addition to online and off line.
Result management system had done work well last time. This is its improved version. Arrangement has been made to deal with fog. It is connected with GPS.
He remarked EC has its own digital infrastructure which has been connected with fibre optic. There is satellite where there is no fiber optic.
