ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (Online): Election Commission (EC) has issued statement regarding change of election symbol.
EC has said provincial election commissioner ,DOR and ROs should avoid changing the election symbol. If change in election symbol is essential then permission be sought from EC first.
EC also said printing of ballot papers has started. May be the change of election symbol could not become possible.
It is pertinent to mention here PPP leader Shiree Rehman had expressed over change in party candidates election symbol of arrow in Punjab.
She had said in her statement she is concerned over inclusion of PPP candidates in independent candidates list. We demand for correction of election symbol of PPP candidates.
Cattle election symbol was instead of arrow given to Fayyaz Bhatti PPP candidate from PP-163 and in the same way Mujahid Islam PP candidate from PP-119 was given symbol of wheel chair instead of arrow.
