ISLAMABAD, FEB 19 (Online): Election Commission (EC) has issued notice to Ijaz Ul Haq , successful candidate from NA -163 Bahawalnagar during hearing of the election petition .
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till February 27.
A two members bench of EC comprising member KP Ikram Ullah and member Balochistan Muhammad Shah Jatoi heard the election petition Monday.
Shaukat Basra, the candidate who lost the election brought with him the Holy Quran. He said he swears on the Holy Quran he had won the election.
Member KP said you should not swear on the Holy Quran. There is separate place for it.
Shaukat Basra said he swears RO did not call him while compiling result. You issued notification of Ijaz Ul Haq before the decision of the case. Ask Ijaz UL Haq to swear on the Holy Quran I will withdraw the case.
The EC while issuing notice to Ijaz ul Haq adjourned the hearing till February 27.
