ISLAMABAD, Dec 26 (online): Election Commission (EC) has directed to provide name of Deputy Commissioner (DC) and IG Islamabad till Wednesday.
On the other hand interior secretary has requested the EC not to transfer both the officers in view of the security threats facing the federal capital.
The case regarding transfer of DC and IG Islamabad came up for hearing before 4-member bench of EC Tuesday.
Interior secretary appeared before the commission. He told the commission that EC orders with reference to advisor to Prime Minister have been implemented.
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) inquired has he brought its notification.
Secretary told the commission he has email. However print comes just now.
Interior secretary told the EC with reference to transfer of DC and IG Islamabad that Prime Minister ( PM ) has approved the transfer of both the officers. However alert has been issued by interior ministry with reference to security threats for Islamabad. It has been requested therein that DC and IG Islamabad be not transferred in this situation.
He requested the EC not to transfer these two officers.
The CEC said name of the officers be provided to EC till today (Wednesday). ;Later we will see what to do.
