EC directs political parties to file details of their election expenses

ISLAMABAD, APRIL 09 (ONLINE):Election Commission (EC) has directed all the political parties which have participated in general election 2024 to file details of their election expenses.
In the event of non filing the details the election symbols will be withdrawn from the respective political parties.

According to EC spokesperson All the political parties which have participated in general election -2024 are informed that under section 211 of election act 2017 and rule 161 of election rules 2017 they are bound to file details of expenses incurred during election campaign and details of donors who have made donation equal to or above 10 lac in EC Islamabad within 60 days of issuance of notification about success of their candidates.

According to spokesperson notice is issued to all political parties in this regard to file details of their election campaign expenses and donors who have made donation equal to or above Rs 10 lac in EC office Islamabad on proposed form 68 before April 22, 2024. Otherwise EC is empowered to withdraw election symbols from these political parties
