Deputy Commissioner withdraws 3MPO, orders to release Asad Qaisar

PESHAWAR, DEC 20 (Online): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Swabi while withdrawing 3-MPO order against Asad Qaisar on court’s order has ordered to release former National Assembly (NA) speaker.

The hearing of arrest of former speaker Asad Qaisar under 3-MPO took place in Peshawar High Court (PHC) Wednesday.

The case regarding arrest of former National Assembly (NA) speaker Asad Qaisar and former MNA Mujahid Khan in several cases came up for hearing before 2-member bench of PHC comprising Chief Justice (CJ) Muhammad Ibrahim Khan and justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim Wednesday.

During the hearing of the case, Arshid Ali counsel for petitioner said the court had directed Advocate General (AG) a day before to talk to DC.

The CJ PHC Muhammad Ibrahim Khan remarked AG has said DC is withdrawing order of 3MPO. He has said you too will not talk against the state. You should not talk against state and institutions.

The counsel for the petitioner said election is going to take place. Political leaders will hold public meetings. We pledge we will not talk against state and the institutions. Asad Qaisar has remained speaker. Why will he talk against the state? When DC withdraws the order, a copy of the same be provided to us.

Later DC Swabi issued order for withdrawing 3 MPO order.

It has been said in the order of DC that Asad Qaisar was arrested under 3MPO. The accused will not disrupt law and order situation. The accused will be bound to abide by political SOPs issued by provincial government. The accused will not launch campaign and chant slogans against the institutions.

The accused Asad Qaisar will deposit surety bond worth Rs 100000. The accused be released from Mardan jail if he is not wanted in any other case.
