ISLAMABAD, Sep 08 (Online): Defence minister Khawaja Asif has said decision on appointment of army chief will not be made under any one’s pressure.
In an interview with US broadcasting corporation he said no concession will be given to Imran Khan in regard to his controversial statement with reference to appointment of army chief. Complete investigation will be made before launching legal proceedings on his controversial statement.
He held making the appointment of army chief controversial is not in the national interest in any way. On the other he considers it enmity.
He remarked consultations are made on key issues in ruling coalition, he indicated. The names to be received from army will be put up before the allied parties leaders.
Saying any thing about Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa extension in service is premature and unnecessary, he underlined.
He made it clear that Pakistani soil was not used for drone attacks in Afghanistan.
