CPPA seeks increase in power tariff by Rs 5.62 per unit

KARACHI, Jan 16 (Online): Preparations have been made to drop one more electricity bombshell on people.
According to sources Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has sent application to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) seeking increase in power tariff by Rs 5.62 per unit.

CPPA has given this application to NEPRA under head of Fuel Price Adjustment for the month of December.

NEPRA said hearing of CPPA will be held on January 31.
A financial burden of over Rs 49 billion will be shifted to the consumers due to approval of the petition.
