Court rejects plea for further 5 days physical remand of Hassan Niazi

ISLAMABAD, March 23 (Online): District and Sessions Court Islamabad has rejected police request for granting more physical remand of Hassan Khan Niazi focal person of PTI chairman Imran Khan in interference in government affairs case.

The court sent Hassan Niazi to jail on judicial remand.

On completion of two days physical remand, Hassan Khan Niazi was presented in district and sessions court Islamabad led by duty magistrate Muhammad Murid Abbas Khan.

Police requested for granting physical remand of Hassan Niazi for further five days.

The investigation officer while requesting for granting more physical remand said we have come to know about co-accused but we have to recover pistol and vehicle.

Faisal Chaudhry counsel for Hassan Niazi read out copy of FIR at the inception of hearing.

More than 72 hours have passed and Hassan Niazi is with them but still they have to recover pistol, he argued.

He said the investigation officer told the other person has been identified. If one thing is not in their possession then how is it possible to keep the man in custody. Police could not ascertain which was the vehicle and on whose name it was.

He further said the accused is lawyer by profession. Cases are being institued on political basis only. Hassan Niazi sin is this he is nephew of Imran Khan. The time mentioned in the case is false. This message is being sent by keeping a laywer in custody that we will arrest and beat.

Faisal Chaudhry while refering to Siddique Jan case said case of terrorism was regsitered agaisnt Siddique Jan. One day remand was given to police.

When nothing was found then court discharged him. A lawyer is being humiliated at the hands of police. This is lawyers cause and it should be seen from better angle.

Ali Bokhari second lawyer of Hassan Niazi requested the court to discharge him from case.

He argued it is mentioned in police reprot that Hassan Niazi was lifted at 11 a.m but arrest was shown at 4 pm. I say the arrest is illegal. I saw martial law and bad circumstances. But I never saw such like this. When case is registered then bail before arrest comes.

Qaisar Iman while referring to various cases said all the clauses except two clauses in FIR are bailable. It is beyond comprehension that the second person ran away by waving pistol. What friendship is this that pistol is held by him and he is mounting vehicle to kill man. I am ashamed of being president of bar.

The court reserved judgment on the request for further 5 days physical remand after hearing the arguments of respodents.

The court while announcing reserved judgment rejected police plea for granting physical remand of Hassan Niazi for more five days and sent him to jail on judicial remand.
