Court rejects plea for de-sealing Lal Haveli

Rawalpindi, SEP 26 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has rejected the plea for desealing Lal Haveli immediately.

Haveli was sealed by the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).
The case came up for hearing before LHC Rawalpindi bench led by Justice Jawad Hassan Tuesday.

The court while summoning deputy administrator ETPB along with record adjourned the hearing of the case till October2.

During the hearing of the petition deputy administrator and legal advisor of ETPB appeared in the court while Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan and his junior lawyer Sardar Shahbaz Khan represented the petitioner Sheikh Siddique.

The counsel for ETPB told the court several chances were given to Sheikh Rashid, his brother Sheikh Siddique to file documents but they and their counsel kept on seeking adjournment repeatedly instead of presenting the record.

The counsel for the petitioner took the plea Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Siddique filed appeal plea in ETPB under the orders of the court but decision was taken to seal Lal Haveli without hearing us.

The counsel for petitioner while declaring the operation against Lal Haveli one sided decision prayed the court to de-seal Lal Haveli.

The court summoned the deputy administrator of ETPB along with record on October 2 after hearing the stance of lawyers of the respondents.
