Contempt of Parliament bill will be tabled in NA today

Islamabad, May 8 (Online): The contempt of parliament bill will be presented in the National Assembly today. The proposed bill was prepared by Chairman Standing Committee on Rules and Privileges, Rana Qasim Noon.

Rana Qasim Noon will present the bill in the House tomorrow as a private member. The 24-member Parliamentary Contempt Committee will investigate the contempt of parliament cases.

Half of the members committee from opposition and half from government will be included in the committee.

After this legislation the chairman of the senate will be able to announce the punishment on the concerned person.

The bill of contempt of parliament has been prepared in the light of the laws in force in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh.

In the bill of contempt of parliament, the punishments of imprisonment and fine have been proposed up to six months imprisonment. And heavy fines have also been proposed in the bill.
