Contempt of EC case against Imran Khan: Hearing adjourned till May 16

ISLAMABAD, April 18 (Online): Election Commission (EC) has adjourned the hearing of contempt of EC case against Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry and Asad Umar till May 16.

During the hearing of the case counsel for PTI said Imran Khan has to appear in 8 cases today, therefore, he cannot come. It is requested that date may please be given in the month of May.

A four member’s bench took up contempt of EC case against Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry and Asad Umar for hearing Tuesday.

PTI counsel appeared before EC and said Imran Khan has to appear in 8 cases today. Therefore, he cannot come. If he appears in these cases then he cannot come here.

He further said a case in respect of Asad Umar is pending hearing in Sindh High Court. It is facing adjournment. While arguments have been given from our side.

Faisal Chaudhry too did not appear due to 8 cases of Imran Khan.

Members of EC said then our turn will come when. It seems the number of appearing in EC will not come. Contempt of EC is pending hearing since long. If reply is not filed now then we will issue order.

Counsel for PTI said I have to come from Karachi. It is requested that date for the month of May be given.

The hearing of the case was adjourned till May 21.
