ISLAMABAD, SEP 05 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed Rana Shamim former chief judge Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) to file list of witnesses till September 07 in contempt of court case.
Contempt of court case came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice Athar Minallah here Monday.
The court remarked this is a stain on this court and we have to wash this stain too. You have leveled allegation in your affidavit. Now you should prove this allegation. This court will not accept unconditional apology as long as this affidavit is here.
This is very vital what thing is being said who is saying it. You have remained former chief judge. You should realize the gravity of matter. If common man commits such contempt of court then it is not so much grave. This affidavit has become public.
This will affect the fair trial of the cases pending hearing in this court. Had affidavit not been published then it was my personal document.
This court will provide you full opportunity of fair trial. You can call any witness whom you want to call. This court will not stop.
This court will not ask about the source from the journalist. May be you realize it and court may give you another chance.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till September 07.
