ISLAMABAD – February 20 (ONLINE) Editor-in-chief of Online News Agency and Daily Jinnah Mohsin Jameel Baig’s spouse said Sunday she will register an FIR against Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in case if any financial or other harm is caused to her husband and family.
“I plea the Cheif Justice of Pakistan and other ‘nutreal’ stakeholders to formulate a high level judicial commission for the provision of justice and to dig out facts” Baig’s spouse said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Baig was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) earlier after Federal Communication Minister Murad Saeed had filed a case against him, for allegedly uttering ‘derogatory’ remarks against the minister during a tv talk show.
“On February 16, some unknown people entered our house forcefully, breaking moral norms and values. Mohsin Jameel Baig was asleep in his room at that moment. Listening to the noise, Baig came out and asked those invaders for their identity. Upon this, they started querrling with Baig” apprehended journalist’s wife Said.
She said that Baig used his right to self defence. During the whole incident, we called the police, she said.
“Invaders tried to escape then but my husband grabbed one of them, in order to hand him over to the police. When police reached scene, my husband asked police to findout who they were and why they forcefully enetered our house” she said.
She quoted SSP Opertaions Islamabad Faisal Kamran as saying “we will sort the matter out”.
“The unknown men then told SSP that they belonged to the FIA. Police officer sought their identities, FIR, arrest warrants, and asked about the presence of their interogative officer. But they failed to provide any” she said.
“Police was then supposed to arrest them and take due action against them, but Alas, cops grabbed my husband instead and illegally arrested him” she continued.
Further revealing the series of incidents that day, she said “Eight people then tortured my husband illegally inside the Margalla police station. His eyesight was damaged along with nostreal bone, and his body was severely tortured” she said.
She said that it was sheer unjust to torture an innocent citizen in the presence of police. She said that court had ordered police to carry out Baig’s medical but he they kept wandering at Islamabad’s roads till late night instead.
“We have been rediculed multiple times in the name of raids and search outs” she said.
“I want to tell higher judiciary and state institutions that my husband had been recieving severe threats since long. This is the manifestation” she said.
