COAS for institutional mechanism to combat humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan

Rawalpindi – December 3 (Online): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday emphasized on the urgency for swiftly devising an institutional mechanism for channeling humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan in order to avert a looming humanitarian catastrophe, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Friday.

According to ISPR, COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa while talking to Andrei Metelitsa, Ambassador of Belarus to Pakistan, said that Pakistan valued Belarus’s role in global and regional affairs and looked forward to enhance bilateral relationship with Belarus.

Belarus’s ambassador to Pakistan Andrei Metelitsa called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, ISPR’s statement said.

“During the meeting, matters of mutual interests, potential in defence cooperation, regional security, and current situation in Afghanistan & partnership in Humanitarian measures were discussed.” The ISPR statement said.

According to statement, Andrei Metelitsa appreciated Pakistan’s role in Afghan situation, special efforts for border management, role in regional stability and pledged to play his part for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
