CJP visits Law and Justice Commission Sectt

Islamabad, November 03, (Online): The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Umar Ata Bandial visited the Secretariat of Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan to chair the official Launching Ceremony of the Documentary, “Adlia Ka Safar-75 Saal”.

Basically, the documentary was prepared for the 9th International Judicial Conference recently held in September 2022.

The Chief Justice was accompanied by his fellow Judges, Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, and Justice Ayesha A. Malik who supervised the activities of the Conference as Members of the Organizing Committee.

On this occasion, the Chief Justice of Pakistan appreciated the efforts of the Secretariat of Law and Justice Commission and the Pakistan Television team for coming up with such a wonderful documentary that covers the judicial history of 75 years since the independence of Pakistan. The Chief Justice also expressed his hope that the Ptv would keep on supporting the LJCP Secretariat in other similar efforts to create awareness amongst the general public about the laws and the access to justice.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan also applauded the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan team for organizing a successful conference and hoped that the Secretariat would continue to organize such events with equal spirit, dedication and commitment. He also emphasized upon the need for research to strike balance between freedom of expression, social media rights and integrity of the people. He also emphasized on the need to activate the role of Alternate Dispute Resolution mechanisms in dispensation of justice for the people of Pakistan.

The Secretary of Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan, while expressing gratitude to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the members of the Organizing Committee for gracing the occasion and providing the opportunity to formally launch the documentary, said that the documentary was possible due to the kind support and supervision of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Chairman of the Commission.

The documentary that has been formally launched on Thursday gives brief picture of the evolution of judicial system in Pakistan along with the infrastructure development and its expansion with the annuls of history. The documentary also reflects upon the future track and the endeavours in modernizing the judicial system in Pakistan for efficient administration of justice in the age of technology.
