Cipher case: Statements of prosecution witnesses could not be recorded

ISLAMABAD, OCT 27 (ONLINE): The statement of prosecution witnesses could not be recorded against chairman PTI and Shah Mehmood Qureshi in cipher case.

Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of Special court established under official secret act took up the case for hearing in Adiala jail Friday.

The others except prosecutor Shah Khawar and defence counsel Barrister Suleman Safdar appeared in the court.

5 witnesses of prosecution also appeared in the court.

The defence counsels while requesting the court not to record statements of witnesses said Islamabad High Court (IHC) has given observation in the decision. The statements of witnesses are not recorded till written order comes.

Prosecutor while opposing it requested the court to record statements of the prosecution witnesses.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till October 31 on the request of defence counsels.
