LAHORE – A ruling party delegation on Saturday called on former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to seek support for Senate candidate from Islamabad Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.
The delegation comprised Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood, Chief Whip in National Assembly Amir Dogar and others. Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, Federal Minister for Housing Tariq Bashir Cheema, Secretary PA Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Ch Sabahat Elahi, Dr Riaz Tasleem, Ch Javed Chattha and Rana Khalid were also present in the meeting that discussed political situation in the country and issues of mutual interest. Chaudhrys assured full support to PTI candidate in Senate election as allies.
“As allies of the government, we are fully supporting PTI candidates. Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to put Pakistan on the path of progress and development. His intention is clear and he will do something for the people. The Prime Minister will have to make difficult decisions for the betterment of the country and the nation”, they said.
Abdul Hafeez Sheikh thanked Ch Shujaat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi and said that he needed their full support. The ruling party will continue journey of development with support of allies, he added.
