Chamman border can be shut for some time due to security concerns: Sheikh Rashid

ISLAMABAD, SEP 02 (Online): Interior minister Sheikh Rashid has said Pakistan can close Chaman border for some time in the face of security concerns.

“ our institutions have no interference of Afghanistan matters. NDSO and RAW have been annihilated and their faces were hung. This time is not for staging long march but it is time to take the country ahead”, he said this while addressing inauguration ceremony of police station Noon here Thursday.

He held no American is in Pakistan and all who had come here had gone. Our institutions have nothing to do with the affairs of Afghanistan.

He remarked there is difference between national reconciliation and national government. We are ready for national reconciliation. Government doors are open for ever for talks with the opposition. This is time to take the country ahead together and not to create chaos.

He underlined national government is PML-N dream. PML-N president says that national government has to be made but Maryam Safdar says she has to go for no talks. But time will come when the opposition will have to talk with government.

He questioned if talks have not to be held with the government then with whom.

If opposition wants to stage long march then they are free to do so, he remarked. However this time is not for staging long march.

He pointed out that crucial role of Pakistan is coming to fore in this region and it is assuming importance. We want peace and Prime Minister (PM) has handed over new responsibility to interior ministry in consequence of Afghan situation.

He stated national crisis cells are being set up soon. Not a corner of Islamabad should be without camera because people became much disturbed.

He held that 200 cameras have been approved for Islamabad.

Expressing sorrow over death of Syed Ali Gilani he said today one greatest man of the world has been martyred.
