Chairman PTI challenges trial court decision on declaring toshakhana case maintainable in IHC

ISLAMABAD, July 11 (Online): Chairman PTI Imran Khan has challenged trial court decision on declaring Toshakhana case maintainable in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Chairman PTI has requested the court to declare the trial court decision null and void.

Additional Sessions Judge Hummayum Dilawar had declared Toshakhana criminal case admissible.

Barrister Gauhar has filed petition on behalf of former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

The judge while addressing Gauhar Ali Khan counsel for Imran Khan during the hearing of the case remarked “tell us one hearing where Imran Khan has appeared.

The counsel said government itself said there are threats for chairman PTI in Kutchery.

Sessions judge remarked court is showing leniency for you in Toshakhana case.

Counsel for Election Commission (EC) told the court constitution of Pakistan itself says action has to be taken against corrupt practice. No specific time is mentioned in law to prove someone corrupt.

Speaker National Assembly sent the reference to EC that former PM did not show gifts. EC took notice on the reference and gave the decision after initiating legal proceedings on it.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chairman PTI was indicted on May 10 in Toshakhana criminal case. Charge Sheet was read out to him.

Chairman PTI had boycotted indictment proceedings. .
PTI chairman had challenged trial court decision in IHC.
IHC had stayed the trial of Toshakhana criminal case against Imran Khan on May 12. However IHC had sent back on July 04 the reference to trial court for hearing it again.
