Cases related to May 9, 10 incident fixed for hearing this and next week in SC delisted

ISLAMABAD , MARCH 10 (ONLINE): All the cases related to May 9 and 10 incidents which were fixed for hearing this week and next week in Supreme Court (SC) have been de-listed.

Hearing of these cases will take place after Eid.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi took up cases for hearing Monday.

During the hearing of the cases senior counsel Zulfiqar Naqvi said Punjab government has appointed him its counsel in May 9 related cases. Court is requested to give time for preparation of cases.

The CJP Yahya Afridi remarked May 9 cases are fixed for hearing tomorrow and day after tomorrow. Additional prosecutor kept on seeking time during previous hearings. Today you are seeking time. It will not run so. This is not only one case. There are about 50 appeals.

Counsel Zulfiqar Naqvi said cases of this week be adjourned. I will come prepared in the cases related to next week.

The CJP remarked some appeals relate to transfer of case. Case transfer matter is over. Seek directives from government on it.

Zulfiqar Naqvi said judge has been transferred. We will pursue cases to the extent of fine and some observations.

Later all the cases related to May 9 and 10 incident regarding this and next week were delisted.
