ISLAMABAD Sep 24 (Online): Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Nadeem John has taken notice of the case of loss of sight due to injection in various cities of Punjab and said that the injections have been withdrawn from the market.
While legal action has also been initiated against 2 suppliers, a supply chain report has been sought, he added.
Talking to the media yesterday, the caretaker federal health minister said that the complaints of eye injections had also come from Multan, Kasur and Faisalabad, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the suppliers.
A case has been registered against the suppliers of fake injections, eye medicine is not allowed to be sold in the market, the injections have been withdrawn from the market, a report has been sought on the supply chain of the medicine.
He said that the conjunctivitis epidemic is being investigated, a committee has been formed on conjunctivitis, which will report in 3 days, while the cases of dengue in Punjab are less than last year, and there has been no death due to dengue in Punjab. Non-supply of essential medicines is under investigation, action will be taken.
He said that they are investigating the matter from different angles, will redress the loss of the patients, will provide them with the best medical facilities, want the improvement in the health sector to be seen by the public, the final statement after the investigation of the incident will be issued.
On the other hand, the caretaker provincial health minister Dr. Javed Akram said that about 40 people of Lahore were affected by the substandard injection.
All stocks of substandard injections were withdrawn from the market. Dr. Jamal Nasir said that this vaccine is 100 mg, such incidents also happened in Kasur and Sadiqabad, the number of patients at this time is between 14 and 20.
Dr. Jamal Nasir further said that we first filed an FIR against Naveed and Hafiz Bilal, they are very cruel people, they were earning up to 1 lakh rupees per injection.
Apart from this, the Health Department took notice of the infection in Oyston injection and issued a warning and formed a five-member inquiry committee. A five-member inquiry committee has been formed under the leadership of Professor Asad Aslam
The committee has started investigation from every angle; all necessary steps will be taken to ensure transparent investigation of the incident.
