LAHORE, July 17 (Online): Polling regarding bye elections will take place today (Sunday) in 20 constituencies in Punjab.
The process for sending polling related material has been started. This material has been handed over to the presiding officers in certain cities including Lahore, Faisalabad and Bhakkar.
175 candidates are contesting election in 20 constituencies.3140 polling stations have been set up.
The electioneering from political parties in 20 constituencies in Punjab have come to end. On last day PTI, PML-N and other candidates run a forceful election campaign.
Rangers will be deployed at polling stations in Lahore, Bhakkar and Multan. Pakistan army will be deployed in sensitive polling stations.
Election commission has issued directives to law enforcement agencies to implement election code of conduct..
On the other hand traffic police have finalized all the arrangement with reference to by polls.
SP Traffic Asif Siddique, SP Shahzad Khan will fully supervise the traffic arrangements.
CTO Muntazar Mehdi told Online 7 DSPs, 43 traffic inspectors and 613 wardens will be deployed. Traffic arrangements have been ensured around 189 polling buildings.
