ISLAMABAD April 03 (Online): Former Speaker National Assembly (NA), Ayyaz Sadiq took the Speaker chair to hold voting on no-confidence motion as Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasin Suri adjourned the NA session without holding vote on the no-confidence motion on Sunday.
Ayaz Sadiq, the former Speaker National Assembly explained that he presided over the NA session under the rule of business number 13 of National Assembly.
According to the rules of business number 13 of NA, the Assembly has 6 members Penal of Chairperson, this Penal, in the absence of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of National Assembly, chairs the session of National Assembly and conduct proceedings.
Ayyaz Sadiq was also member of the Penal of Chairpersons of National Assembly.
Ayyaz Sadiq was included to the penal on 11th January of this year. Under article-95 two, today was deadline of voting on no-confidence on National Assembly.
According to rule 37, session of National Assembly cannot be adjourned without holding vote on no-confidence motion.
Due to absence of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, being the member of Penal of chairpersons of National Assembly, according to the rule of 13, Ayyaz Sadiq hold the position of National Assembly to vote on no-confidence motion.
