Audio leaks matter: JIC raises objection over SC bench

ISLAMABAD, May 31 (Online): A three members Judicial Inquiry Commission (JIC) presided over by Justice Qazi Faez Isa has filed reply in Supreme Court (SC) in alleged audio leaks matter.

The JIC has raised objection over the SC bench hearing the plea against it.

it has been said in the reply the commission has no personal interest in audio leaks inquiry. Commission has been assigned this responsibility under law.
The commission will discharge its obligation under law and constitution.

Commission assures that the objections raised by the respective respondents will be heard and considered.

It has been said in the reply it is not proper for the bench to hear the petitions. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) and other judges are bound to law and constitution. CJP and judges are bound to implement code of conduct.

The commission said there are audios before it with reference to Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan, Justice Munib Akhtar and mother in law of CJP.

This plea has also been taken in the reply President Supreme Court Bar filed petition against audio leak commission. The other persons related to alleged audio leaks have neither filed petition in SC nor have they raised objection over commission. The journalist Qayyum Siddiqui and Khawaja Tariq Rahim too are ready to appear in the commission.
