The CJP inquired more than 90 hours have passed and FIR has not been registered so far.

IG Punjab told the court consultation was made with Chief Minister Punjab regarding registration of FIR. There are reservations regarding registration of case on the application which has been given in this regard.

The counsel for PTI told the court the case of murderous attack on Imran Khan has not been registered so far.

The CJP Umar Ata Bandial remarked “ IG Punjab should tell the FIR of the case will be registered within what period of time . If the registration of case is being delayed it means the evidence are become destroyed. If case is not registered within 24 hours then suo motu action will be taken.

The CJP remarked “ IG Sahb, you will be responsible in suo motu notice. Investigate the matter and collect the evidence. Forensic test of the matter be got done. Attempt was made to murder national leader. Understand the sensitivity of the matter.

The CJP while addressing the IG Police Punjab remarked we have heard about your world level achievements. You should register FIR and inform us.

The CJP directed IG Punjab to continue his work. If some one interferes then we will interfere. If the stance of provincial government is different even then the police should register FIR as per law.

The CJP remarked murderous attack has been made on a national leader. Registering FIR under criminal justice system is must. The court will ensure the criminal justice system should run uninterrupted.

The CJP remarked if police have not conducted investigation then it is possible the proofs have been wiped out from the scene. The proofs of case like this will be controversial and non acceptable in the court later.
