Army continues to assist civil administration in flood relief efforts

ISLAMABAD – September 12 (ONLINE) Pakistan Army’s all-out efforts to assist the civil administration in rescuing the flood affected continue across the country.

So far, 489 Army Aviation helicopters sorties have been flown to various areas for evacuation of stranded people. In last 24 hours, 4 sorties have been flown and evacuated 36 stranded individuals & delivered 6.35 Tons of relief items to the flood affectees. Moreover, up till now 4460 stranded Individuals have been evacuated through helicopter sorties.

Adding to this, 147 Relief Camps and 284 Relief Collection points in Sindh, South Punjab and Balochistan have been established across the country for flood affectees.

7119.2 Tons of food items alongwith 1271.1 Tons of sustenance items and 4784460 medicine items have been collected so far. However, 6855.7 Tons of food 1203.0 Tons of sustenance items and 4597776 medicine items have been distributed up till now.
