ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) while giving two weeks to Additional Attorney General (AAG) to file reply in respect of the petition filed against appointment of new president of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has adjourned hearing of the case for two weeks.
The petition came up for hearing in IHC Tuesday.
Chief Justice (CJ) IHC gave two weeks time to AAG to file reply.
Pakistan sports board filed its reply during hearing of the case.
CJ IHC Aamer Farooq took up for hearing petition filed by Brig (Retd) Muhammad Khalid Sajid Khokhar who was removed as president of PHF.
Fayyaz ul Haq joint secretary of ministry of interprovincial coordination also appeared in the court and he presented stance of ministry.
Brig (Retd) Muhammad Sajjad Khalid Khokhar presented additional documents in the court.
The court was told that government cannot interfere in Sports federation matters. Government itself entered into agreement with IOC. The election of PHF have been held.
The counsel further argued adhoc appointment is only for facilitation. National hockey team is participating in Olympic qualifier.
AAG said court should give time to file reply on documents.
The court inquired where is Tariq Bugti who has become adhoc president. He did not appear in the court.
The court while giving two weeks time to AAG to file reply adjourned hearing of the case for two weeks.
