Ambassador Masood appeals US philanthropists, civic organizations to help flood victims

ISLAMABAD, Sep 05 (Online): An urgent appeal for the relief of flood-affected people of Pakistan was launched on Fox-5 News to the US philanthropists and civic organizations.

The appeal was made by renowned anchor Tom Fitzgerald during his live interview with Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US Masood Khan.

In his remarks on the occasion, Ambassador Masood Khan while highlighting the magnitude of the disaster said Pakistan is looking forward for assistance of international community in relief and rescue operations. He said shelter, food and medicines are immediate requirements.

Masood Khan said that Pakistan had developed an apparatus after undergoing natural disasters in past but that apparatus was inadequate for the present calamity of unparalleled proportions.

The Ambassador thanked the US government for provision of thirty million dollars for the rescue and relief of flood affected people in Pakistan.
