ISLAMABAD, APRIL 26 (ONLINE): The hearing of all cases before bench No 1 of Supreme Court (SC) headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial for April 26, Wednesday was cancelled being the CJP unwell.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of CJP has said in a statement the court roster for April 26, 2023 (Wednesday) in respect of bench No 1 has been reviewed due to ill health of the CJP.
It has been said in the notice issued by Registrar SC in this regard that all the law officers, advocates general, prosecutors general, advocates on record and people are informed that all the cases fixed for hearing on April 26, 2023 before bench No 1 in final cause list No 17/2023 are delisted.
The said bench No 1 comprised CJP Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Jamal Mandukhel and Justice Athar Minullah and twelve cases were fixed for hearing before this bench.
The list of the cases fixed for bearing before bench No 2 comprising Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Shahida Wahid has also been cancelled.
However no reason has been mentioned in notification issued by registrar SC for delisting the cases of bench No 2.
A new bench comprising Justice Ijazul Ahsan, and Justice Aminuddin Khan has been constituted to hear all the cases of bench No 2.
