AC accepts exemption plea of Hassan, Hussain Nawaz in Panama references

ISLAMABAD, MARCH 15 (ONLINE): Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has accepted exemption plea of Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz sons of former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif from attendance .
Accountability Court judge Nasir Javaid Rana heard the Avenfield, Al-Azizia and Flagship references on Friday and approved the request of Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz for their exemption from attendance .

The court has given time to NAB till March 19 for preparation of case and filing record. Judge Nasir Javed Rana took up for hearing the acquittal pleas of Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz in Aven Field, Alazizia and flagship references Friday. Qazi Misbah advocate appeared on behalf of Hassan and Hussain Nawaz in the court. Rana Irfan representatives of both the accused also appeared in the court.

Prosecutor Afzal Qureshi, Sohail Arif and Usman Masood appeared in the court from NAB side.
NAB requested the court to give time for filing record. The court gave time till March 19 to NAB to file the record.
Judge Nasir Javed Rana while addressing NAB prosecutor said charge of AC NO 1 and 3 is held by me. . I am duty judge of AC No 2 as well. Charge of AC No 2 has also been given to me as well . Its notification will be issued today.

The court while accepting exemption plea of Hassan and Hussain Nawaz from attendance adjourned the hearing of the their acquittal pleas in 3 references till March 19.

A day before the AC had ended the status of proclaimed offender of these two sons of Nawaz Sharif in three references besides canceling their arrest warrants. The court had approved their bail against surety bonds in the sum of Rs 50000.

The warrant cancellation matter came up for hearing in the three references in AC Islamabad.

Absconding Hassan and Hussain Nawaz appeared before the court in the three references and they surrendered before judge Nasir Javed Rana.

It is pertinent to mention here Hassan and Hussain Nawaz had returned to Pakistan on March 12. AC had declared both of them proclaimed offender 7 years earlier.

On March 6, AC Islamabad had suspended the permanent arrest warrants of sons of Nawaz Sharif till March 14. They had resorted to court for suspension of arrest warrants.
