LAHORE, Sep 05 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) while issuing notice to federal government, ministry of petroleum and OGRA on a miscellaneous petition against hike in the prices of petroleum products has sought reply from them in next week.
The miscellaneous petition against the hike in price of petroleum products came up for hearing before the LHC Monday.
During the hearing of the petition court directed the law officer to present procedure before it regarding increase in the prices of petroleum products on next hearing.
Azhar Siddique, from Judicial Activism panel while making OGRA, federal government and others respondents in the petition said that petroleum products prices have declined in international market but these prices have been raised in Pakistan. No approval from cabinet was also obtained in this regard. No solid reasons have also been given for raising the prices.
He prayed the court to nullify the hike in the prices of petroleum products.
