2 senior judges of SC demand of CJP to constitute full court to hear petitions against 26th amendment

ISLAMABAD, NOV 05 (ONLINE): Two senior judges of Supreme Court (SC) has written letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi for formation of full court in connection with 26th constitutional amendment.

They have placed other demands too including formation of full court.

The letter was written by justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Munib Akhtar to the CJP.  In the letter both the senior judges demanded for fixing the 26th constitutional amendment case before full court during the current week.

It was said in the letter that it was decided in October 21 committee meeting to fix 26th amendment case in full court for hearing. Case will be heard by full court from November 4. No cause list was issued despite committee decision.  Both of senior judges had demanded of CJP to convene committee meeting on October 31.

It was told in the text of letter written to CJP that we judges summoned committee meeting under section 2 after the meeting was not convened by CJP.

Two judges decided in the meeting case against 26th constitutional amendment will be heard by full court on November 4.

The letter said that the petitions against the 26th constitutional amendment be fixed for hearing before full court this week.

Both the judges directed registrar office to issue minutes of October 21 meeting on web site.
