RAWALPINDI, JAN 13 (ONLINE): PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has said 190 million pounds is an absurd case adding had there been justice , release would have taken place today.
He said this while talking to media men along with Suleman Akram Raja advocate outside Adiala jail Monday.
He held we were waiting that decision of 190 million pounds reference would come today but we were told before entering into Adiala jail that January 17 has been given new date.
” The court staff had given time to us and prosecution till 11 a.m The news are running since yesterday that decision would be announced at 11 A.M. We reached here. Family of PTI founder also came but decision was adjourned before our entry to Adiala jail. Where it is written that the decision be announced if the accused are present. Toshakhana decision had come when Bushra Bibi was not present.
When inquired it was told by prosecution team the court staff had not given any time to them. Why did you reach late today.
He said where it was written if some one did not come till 10 A.M and you should decide the case. We all were present outside Adiala jail. Had we not reached then the court would have announced the decision. Presence of the accused was not necessary.
Upon it he was asked then you would have raised the objection that how the decision was announced in the absence of the accused and their lawyers.
He said it was appropriate for the court that it would have waited for half an hour more and matter would have come to end.
It is seen to us written on the wall that injustice has been done with us.
Imran Khan is striving since the last 27 years to change this system.
He observed this case is aimed at pressurizing Imran Khan. Imran Khan is not owner of this university and he is only trustee. The objective was to subjugate Imran Khan.
The attitude of trial courts has remained unjust against us, he said adding Al-Qadir trust is politically motivated case and is designed for browbeating Imran Khan. His wife was also included in the case to pressurize PTI founder.
Suleman Akram Raja said no one should give the impression that the decision has been adjourned due to any deal. Imran Khan will prove his innocence in the court.
He went on to say our talks with negotiation team are underway.
He remarked one thing is very clear this is not part of any deal. It has been learnt that the talks are going to take place on January 15. But it should not be seen in the perspective of any deal.
