Islamabad 02 September 2021(Online): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized as many as 1,465Kg narcotics valuing US$ 77.7million in international market and arrested 20 suspected drug peddlers including a woman in 31 separate operations.
One Afghan and one Nigerian national are among the arrested drug peddlers and also impounded 12 vehicles.
The arrests and seizers were made in 31 counter-narcotics strikes operations throughout the country. The seized drugs comprised 3kg Heroin, 1047Kg Hashish, 408Kg Opium, 0.5Kg Methamphetamine (Ice), 0.5Kg Cocaine, 20 Intoxicant Tablets, 514Ecstasy Tablet, and about 6Kg Weed.
In segregation of these operations, the ANF Balochistan arrested seven suspected drug peddlers, including an Afghan National, a woman, and seized 670kg drugs in nine 9 operations. During these operations, the ANF teams impounded four vehicles, 370kg Hashish, 300Kg Opium, 20 Intoxicant Tablets and 514 Ecstasy Tablets.
ANF Punjab in 13 operations seized 785 Kg of drugs, 7 vehicles and arrested 10 accused. The seized drugs comprised around 2Kg Heroin, 675Kg Hashish, 108Kg Opium and 0.5 Kg Methamphetamine (Ice).
In 3 operations, ANF KPK recovered about 3Kg drugs in, arrested 2 accused and seized 1 vehicle. The seized drugs were comprised 1Kg Heroin, around 2Kg Hashish and 10 gram of Methamphetamine (Ice).
ANF Sindh in 1 operation recovered about 0.5Kg of drugs which was concealed in suspected courier parcel which booked for Maldives. During search of the said parcel around 0.5Kg Heroin concealed in 9 Thread Cones.
In 5 operations ANF north recovered about 6Kg drugs, arrested an accused Nigerian National. The seized drugs were comprised 0.5kg Cocaine and about 5.5Kg weed.
Cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act 1997. Further investigations are underway.
