Presidential, parliamentary elections kick off in Serbia

BELGRADE – April 3 (ONLINE) Presidential and early parliamentary elections began in Serbia on Sunday. At 07:00 local time, 8,255 polling stations opened nationwide until 20:00.

Current president Aleksandar Vucic is a favorite in the presidential race, according to surveys, he is supported by 60.1% of voters. He is followed by former Chief of the Serbian General Staff Zdravko Ponos who may garner 16.4%.

The voters will also elect the legislators of the national parliament out of the representatives of 19 parties.

The results should be announced within 96 hours of the polls closing, that is, by 21:00 Moscow time on April 7.
