BEIJING, Mar 12 (APP): Prof Cheng Xizhong, Senior Research Fellow at the Charhar Institute said on Wednesday that the primary security challenge confronting Pakistan stems from cross-border terrorist attacks emanating from Afghan territory, which continuously threaten its national sovereignty and the safety of its innocent civilians.

Despite frequent external shocks, soaring security costs, and lingering global economic uncertainties, Pakistan has achieved steady economic stabilization with the support of friendly countries and international financial organizations, and remains firmly dedicated to structural reforms to foster sustainable development. He said that regionally, amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and South Asia, Pakistan has actively advocated dialogue, de-escalation and respect for national sovereignty.
