Iran summons Indian envoy to protest insulting Prophet (PBUH)

TEHRAN – June 6 (ONLINE) As India faces worldwide condemnations for insulting Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on state level, Iran’s Foreign Ministry’s director-general for South Asian affairs on Monday summoned Indian ambassador to Tehran to protest the heinous remarks.

According to Iranian news agency, the deputy foreign minister of Iran expressed deep reservations and condemnation and “informed the Indian ambassador of the deep sorrow of both the Iranian government and the Iranian nation about the regretful incidence”.

According to the news agency, the Indian envoy too expressed sorrow over the incident. The Indian envoy, according to news agency, said matter is also not reflecting the viewpoint of the Indian government, which respects all religions maximally, adding that the insulter had no government position, but was a member of a party, but after that move he was also fired from that party.
