RIYADH Oct 11 (Online): Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi contacted the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Salman by telephone.
This is the first contact between the Iranian President and the Saudi Crown Prince after the peace agreement between Tehran and Riyadh by China.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Raisi and Mohammed bin Salman agreed on mutual efforts to end the tension in the region.
According to the British newspaper and Iranian media, on this occasion, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi discussed the ongoing tension in Gaza and its surroundings.
The two leaders agreed that Israeli war crimes against Palestinians must end.
The Saudi Crown Prince and the Iranian President reiterated their efforts for peace in the discussion on the situation in Gaza, in which the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people are available. 1000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes, while thousands have been displaced.
It has been learned that Prince Mohammed bin Salman, while expressing serious concern over the situation in the Gaza Strip, also emphasized the need to observe the principles of international law and said that targeting the citizens of Gaza and avoiding the loss of innocent lives should be avoided.
In addition, in the telephone conversation, the Saudi crown prince reiterated that Saudi Arabia is making every effort to negotiate with all international and regional parties to prevent tensions.
The Crown Prince also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s strong position to support the Palestinian cause and efforts to achieve a comprehensive and just peace guaranteeing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Apart from this, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also had a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
On this occasion, the two leaders discussed the tension in Gaza and the surrounding area, during which Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that Saudi Arabia is making joint efforts to stop the tension.
