The majority of foreign countries, including India, still refuse to recognize Afghanistan’s Taliban administration as the de facto ruling authority more than two years after the Taliban retook control of Kabul following the fall of the Western-backed government, leaving numerous Afghan embassies and consulates in limbo.
Furthermore, when the Taliban seized power, diplomats sent by the previous administration refused to give up control of embassy buildings and property.
