ISLAMABAD, OCT 20 (ONLINE): Senator Mushtaq Ahmad has said the court has heard Dr Aafia Siddiqui case on priority basis and it has asked from the government regarding progress in the case on every hearing seriously.

He said this while talking to media men after hearing of Dr Aafia Siddiqui case in Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday.

He pointed out that Dr Aafia Siddiqui is in American jail since7507 days.

The jail where Dr Aafia Siddiqui is imprisoned is the worst jail of US.

Aafia Siddiqui has been kept in jail in the worst condition among all over 10000 prisoners serving sentences therein.

Keeping Aarfa Siddiqui in prison for such long period is due to lack of interest on the part of government, he remarked.

Due to criminal negligence of all the governments Dr Aafia Siddiqui is in jail. She is facing hardships in terms of her meeting with family members and provision of amenities.

I contacted telephonically with the caretaker Prime Minister (PM) when he was on US tour. I asked him to raise Aafia Siddiqui case in US. I was pained he too ignored this case like previous governments.

I demand of government to give roadmap, he said adding the legal and political ways for return of Dr Aafia Siddiqui are there.
