At UN, Pakistan calls for end to harsh suppression of Muslims, Christians, Kashmiris in India

ISLAMABAD, June 15 (Online): At the United Nations, Pakistan has called for an end to harsh suppression of Muslims, Christians, and Kashmiris in India.

During debate on Culture of Peace at the UN, Pakistan Permanent Representative Ambassador Munir Akram said Hindutva ideologues and BJP-regime proudly equate their ideology with Hitler’s Nazis and called for the persecution of India’s Muslims.

He said recently India have witnessed a significant rise in hate, discrimination, xenophobia and organized violence against individuals, and communities on the basis of cultures, religions, or race.

The envoy urged UN to ask India to halt its programme to eliminate Islamic heritage by changing history books, place names, school curriculums and other similar cultural obliteration of Islam.
